Jean Greene McCrary
BLANCHARD, LA - Jean Greene McCrary died July 6, 2005 at Schumpert Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old. Mrs. McCrary was born May 1, 1925 in Winslow, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer J. "Shorty" Greene and Pearl Edith Wiggs Greene. She attended Winslow High School until Mid Term 1941 and then moved to Oakland City (Indiana) and there attended Oakland City High School graduating in 1943. On August 11, 1945 she married Eldon Ray McCrary with whom she had a son Michael Ray McCrary and a daughter Patricia Jean McCrary Cantoni. Organizational affiliations include membership at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Clyde, Pa, Order of Eastern Star #451 at Oakland City, Indiana, an Honorary Member of Chapter #236 OES at Blanchard, La. and member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem at Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. McCrary is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, her son and daughter, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, all who will miss her deeply. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Elmer A. "Bud" Greene and Franklin W. "Doodle" Greene. Visitation will be Thursday July 7, 2005 from 5 to 7 PM at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel followed by an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 PM. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday July 8, 2005 at Centuries Park, Mansfield Road, the Reverend M. C. Cady officiating. Pallbearers are grandsons Patrick M. McCrary, Michael R. McCrary Jr., Kevin M. McCrary, Corey M. McCrary, and close family friends Phillip Sturdivant and Tim Miskimon.Rose-Neath Funeral Home
