Hello,
I am looking for some help in locating records of marriages in Indiana. I have checked what is online for Pike County, and know there are gaps in years online. So I was wondering if anyone could do a lookup for me on a couple marriage possibilities. Our greatgrandfather, David Bair(d) listed his parents as Mary Farland, and Henry Bair IN, when he was married in Michigan in 1894. All I know is that Mary's mother's name was Sarah Ferling/Farland. She came to Michigan with Mary and David before 1880, where I found Mary married to a Charles Smith. We don't know what happened to Henry Bair/Bear/Baird. If someone could lookup a marriage record for him in the years 1868- 1873 that would be great. Just to warn you Mary's name may not have still been Farland. There is some family story, very unclear, about a name change from Maricle to Baird, so may be that Mary married a Maricle before she married Henry Baird. That is the other possibility that needs to be checked, probably the same time frame as the other, 1868- 1873. If someone could find her birth record, I would be overjoyed! We don't know her father's name. Mary E. 7 IN, brother John W.17 IN, and her mother, Sarah Farling 40 PA, are on census records for 1860. 1870 I can't find any of them. 1850 census, same place, lists Sarah and son John W., but no husband.
If you aren't confused by now, congratulations! If you can help me with search ideas or do a lookup for me, I would be so grateful. In Michigan you have to have a specific date to get records. I am assuming that is true in Indiana?
