A family tree on Rootsweb says that Esther's last name was Dwinell, but it also says she died in 1849 which clearly isn't the case, given that she was alive for the 1850 census.

Johnson, John B. deid 16 Oct 1869 aged 80y, 6m, 7d
Johnson, Esther, wife, died 13 Mar 1855, aged 64yrs.
