Dear List: I am trying to prove my GGGrandfather was Thomas Benthall from Carteret County, NC. I believe he moved from Carteret after 1804 and moved to the part of Henderson County, KY that became Union County, KY. About 1837 he sold his land in Kentucky and moved to Posey County, IN. I have documented my sources below. I am looking for any information about Thomas Benthall in Posey County that will help me wrap this up: Wedding Applications, Tombstone incriptions, Census, etc. Thanks, Mike In Carteret County, NC; March Court 1787, Thomas Benthal, aged sixteen years, to be bound unto Absolam Shepard. 1800 Census: Carteret County, NC Benthal, Thomas 1 male 26-44 3 females under 10 1 female 26-44 August Court 1803 A deed from John Benthal, Rebecca Benthal, Jacob Benthal, and Thomas Benthal to Isaac Meador for 76 acres of land, proved by the oath of Leonard Mann. > November Court 1803 A deed from Thomas Benthal, Jacob Benthal and John Benthal to ________ for 141 acres of land on Newport, proved by the oath of Joseph Bell. > > May Court 1804 Deed from Thomas Benthal to the children of John Hibbs, Dec'd, for land on Bogue Sound, proved by oath of David Russell.
