Thank you so much for your post (and for your kind words about my grandfather in your other post). *grin*
I have a little additional information that I have found in my searching that I'd like to share.
Benjamin Franklin Williams Sr. also had two other children:
John W Williams b. 1/17/1862 d. 6/29/1862
Jerneasy E Williams b. 1/16/1864 d. 9/17/1864
George Washington Williams also married Cyntha J Willis 1/28/1884 in Stoddard County, MO, Dollie Courtney (b. 1880) m. 7/7/1898 in Stoddard County, MO (which you show) and Emma E Watson 5/16/1909 in Stoddard County MO.
I show Benjamin Franklin Williams' wife's last name as Staley, whose married name was Wilkins when she married Benjamin. I also see that on the 1880 Harmony, Posey, IN census, a few houses down from Benjamin and Sarah is a John Staily, age 45, and his wife Angeline. I think this might be Sarah's brother???
I have found Benjamin Franklin Williams' father to be John P Williams. He was born 2/10/1794 in North Carolina. He died 7/19/1852 in Pipe Creek, Madison County, IN. He is buried in Brown/Stoker Cemetery in Pipe Creek Township, Madison County, IN. I was also give the date of 1818 in Pennsylvania for his birth information, but I never could find anything that backed up that birth date and location.
Pipe Creek Township, Madison Indiana 1850 census shows the following:
John P Williams, age 56, b. in NC
Sarah Williams, age 45, b. in Pennsylvania
Enoch Williams, age 17
William Williams, age 13
Leroy Williams, age 12
Rebecca Williams, age 11
Benjamin Williams, age 9, born Indiana
All of the children were listed as born in Indiana.
His wife's name was Sarah (don't know her maiden name). She was born about 1805 in Pennsylvania.
I did find a marriage record for a John P Williams marrying Sarah Hetherington 5/21/1822 in Wayne County, IN, but I don't know if this is them or not.
Beth Wilson posted something on genforum about the will of a John Williams, written 5/31/1831 proved 2/8/1837 in Posey County Indiana Will Book A page 124. He mentions wife Henrietta, five oldest sons: John, George, James, William and Benjamin and two daughters, Winney (?) and Melinda. This is all of the information that I have on this. I don't have the actual will, but would love to see it. This could possibly be John P Williams' father. John P Williams had sons William and Benjamin. Could these be named for his brothers?
I find John P Williams on the 1830 and 1840 Posey IN censuses. I also found an Enoch, James and William Williams on the 1840 Posey IN census.
Unfortunately, though. This is where I have hit my dead end. If you have any luck with this information, please let me know.
Also, Leecy's maiden name was Bolin. She had been married to William Lafayette Cates.
