I have Unknown Clark and Blanche Price. I haven't been able to find marriage on them yet. I do know that they had Bertha Mae Clark 1910/1911 - her obit says she was born in Randolph Co., Indiana - places I know she has lived after marrying Burtchell John Phillips, is Hagerstown, Greens Fork and Richmond, Indiana. They also had Carl and Louis Clark. Again, in her obit. It states that Louis is in Richmond and Carl is in Harrison, Indiana. This was in 1955.
I was told Bertha's father (Blanch Price Clark's husband) was a fire chief or something along those lines and that he died during the fire at the old skating rink in Richmond. I was told that this was the first skating rink located on Main St. I have only found info. on one skating rink on Main called the Coliseum. It was damaged by fire in 1925 and destroyed by fire in 1944. However, I can not find any info. on him dying during this fire. Richmond fire department said they only lost four guys in the line of duty but not in these fires. I can not find an obit or death date for any male Clark dying around these dates either. What makes it more difficult is that I have no idea what his name was. I mentioned to the person I got this info from that I have heard of Clark's getting their start in Redkey Indiana. She said that sounded familiar. Does anyone know what County it is in and has anyone heard of Clark's starting in Redkey? I was also told that it is believed Bertha had indian in her. I unfortunately have never been able to see a picture of her. She was my grandmother and died in 1955 (16 yrs before my birth) I was told she had dark hair and high cheekbones and was a "light" dark skin. If anyone has info on these Clark's, please let me know.
