James Harrison Newman was born about 1858 (from census) in Ripley Co., IN...possibly in Napoleon. He was the son of John Newman and Elizabeth...I need to figure out which John Newman and if his wife Elizabeth was Elizabeth Fiscus dau. of William and Nancy(Becraft) Fiscus.

Elizabeth Fiscus married a John Newman in Decatur Co., IN Jan. 2, 1857. He was born 1835. If I have the right John Newman...he was living with his mother Rebecca (Caseldine) in the home of John Newman in Ripley Co., IN in 1850. I assume this older John Newman was his UNCLE.

Rebecca married William Clark and stayed in Ripley Co.

The John Newman, born 1835 was listed at one time as John H. Newman.

Elizabeth Fiscus married John H. Newman. James Harrison Newman was Elizabeth's child. In 1880 Elizabeth was listed as divorced age 66 living in Jackson Twp, Ripley Co.IN. I cannot find James Harrison Newman in 1880.

What I really need is to document that John H. Newman and Elizabeth Fiscus were the parents of James Harrison Newman. Also that John H. Newman who married Elizabeth was actually the son of Rebecca Caseldine and an unknown Newman. There were several John Newman's and they all seem to be connected to my family in some way.
