I am searching for any information about John Palmer, born 1822-1826 in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He emigrated to the USA by abt. 1850 and settled in Ripley County, Indiana, and married Samantha Nancy Gray-Dickerson (born 12 Mar 1827 Ripley Cty., IN, died 9 Sept. 1905 same place) on 28 Feb 1873 in Ripley Cty., IN. John Palmer died on 15 Apr 1885. Nancy Samantha descends from her grandfather David Gray, born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1754, married Nancy Blackburn in Bradston, Nelson Cty., KY on 18 Mar 1799, and (he) died 27 Dec 1842 in Mixerville, Franklin Cty., IN.

Of John and Samantha Nancy Palmer's several children, I descend from their son James Sylvanus Palmer, born 22 Aug 1853, married Elmira Minerva Kirtley on 6 Feb 1877, and he died in 1931 all in Ripley Cty., IN. Of their several children, I descend from Rose M. Palmer, born Feb 1885, married Franklin P. Asche, and (she) died in 1958, all in Ripley Cty., IN. My maternal grandmother was their daughter Clara Asche, born 16 Sept 1914, who married John Lind (Jr.) (born 28 Jan 1912, died 26 Jan 1965) on 6 May 1937 in Lawrenceburg, Dearborn Cty., IN and moved to Cincinnati, Hamilton Cty., OH where she died 26 Jul 1985. Her daughter, Carolyn Margot Lind born 20 Feb 1941 married (my father) Robert Gerald "Jerry" Bray (born 3 Jan 1932 Clio, Whitley Cty., KY, died 25 Jul 1995 Whitley Cty,. KY) and I was born Sherri Lynn Bray, 15 Jun 1961.

The Palmers were Protestant, and were Baptist while living in the state of Indiana after they emigrated to the USA. Most lived in Ripley Cty., IN from the early 1800's up to today.

Any information regarding John Palmer and his ancestors, emigration information or any suggestions of how to find this information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Sherri L. Miller
