Hi all, I am searching for any information on a woman named Indiana Deal (or Diehl), who married a David Shook April 24, 1840 in Ripley County, Indiana. There are various birthdates and birthplaces for her. They are b. 1815 in Indiana; b. October 21, 1820 in Pennsylvania; b. abt. 1823 in Versailles, Ripley county, Indiana; and a last one of 1824 in Pennsylvania.
Two death dates for her, one of October 1859 (U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules) in Eden township, Fayette County, Iowa by tuberculosis, and another death date of November 18, 1859 in Edan, Fayette County, Iowa, and buried there a few days later.
I am trying to find out parents and any brothers/sisters of hers. There were several Deals that got married in Ripley County, Indiana within a few years of her, and I am wondering if she came from that family, but I cannot find any mention of an Indiana Deal/Diehl anyplace but on one census (1850) when she was married to David Shook, her marriage record to David Shook, and her death.
She is a direct ancestor of mine. Is there anyone out there that has any information on this woman? Or can tell me where else I might look?
