Hi Betty,
I noticed your post and thought I might be able to help...
Let's see, according to my notes I have the following:
Johann Adam Imboden and his wife Catherine had four sons including Nicholas Imbody.
Nicholas Imbody and his wife Ann Margaret Lynn had four sons including Jacob who was born in 1783.
Jacob married Catherine Schaeffer and had nine kids including Jacob J. Inbody.
Jacob J. Inbody married first an unknown woman and had Lovina, George,Melvina, Alice and James.
Jacob J. Inbody married second to Susanna and had Amy, John, Jesse, Jacob,Catherine, and Samuel.
According to your post, Jacob J's son Jacob married Mary Ellen Staats and had 13 children including a Roy Inbody who was your grandfather.
The 1880 census for Jacob and Susanna Inbody has differing names so you really should check with John J.Inbody...as my notes may be incorrect. Email me at home and I will give you his email address.

And, a Roy Inbody age 24,estimated birth year 1876, shows up on the 1900 census in mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa as a roomer. Year: 1900; Census Place: Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa; Roll: T623 423; Page: 2B; Enumeration
