I just found out some info on my INGLIS/THOMSON family connections in Edinburgh. My great-grandmother's (Isabella THOMSON) sister, Margaret THOMSON, BD: May 19, 1883, married Peter INGLIS in South Leith Edinburgh on June 16, 1906. They had at least 2 sons: 1) Alexander INGLIS, BD: May 10, 1907, North Leith. Family lived at 50 West Bowling Green Street at the time of Alexander's birth; 2) James Thomson INGLIS, BD: May 27, 1914, North Leith. Family lived at same address: 50 West Bowling Green Street, Leith Edinburgh. How does my family fit into this picture? I'm assuming that Alexander INGLIS Sr is the father of Peter INGLIS. (due to Scottish naming patterns) Margaret (THOMSON) INGLIS is the daughter of James THOMSON and Sarah JAMIESON. Margaret (Meg) had siblings: Isabella, James, John Jamieson, Adam, Jessie Tully Thomson. Adam Thomson died in WWI. Isabella married John Fulton PARK in 1904. Isabella and John PARK had 1 daughter, Sarah E. PARK (my grandmother). They moved to Canada and settled in Hamilton, Ontario. John F. PARK died in WWI also. Isabella PARK remarried - to William James MORRIS. James THOMSON came to Canada and settled in Hamilton. John J. THOMSON moved to the USA - Detroit, MI for many years & later Florida. He married Agnes HART & they had 1 daughter, Ruth A. THOMSON. Peter INGLIS must have died before 1943 or he & Margaret divorced, as she married a Mr. D. VALENTINE. Jessie THOMSON married a Mr. KENCH and I think they may have moved to England. So, I'm hoping to find relatives out there & welcome you to my Family Tree!!! Thanks in advance. Take care.
