Hi Janet

Your grandfather Andrew also had twin brothers Robert and James, born in 1887 in Old Kilpatrick. I am Robert's granddaughter.

I have done some research on the Inglis and McQueen ancestry and will be happy to pass this on to you. The Inglis side goes back to the Ettrick area in the Borders, the McQueens were based in Shotts, Lanarkshire where Robert and Isabella married. I have seen and photographed the house near Shotts where they married - Rimmon cottage. Robert Inglis was a gamekeeper - I have a silver whistle presented to him on his retiremetn, and a photograph of him receiving it. He died in Glasgow in 1909. Isabella died in 1933 I think.

I knew there was a brother Andrew, born in Canada, but did not know what had become of him, or of James Inglis. My grandfather Robert fought in WW1 in the German East African campaign. He married my grandmother Flora in Glasgow in 1919 and they had one son, Alastair, my father, before Robert died of TB in 1923.

The 3 Inglis daughters all had family some of whom are still based in Scotland, others went to England or India.

All good wishes.I will send on further details if you would be interested.

Susan
