My Grandfather and Greatgradfather were both named Thomas and, I believe, were born in Dorset (probably Sturminster-Newton). My Greatgrandfather was Thomas Inkpen born 1840 and married Louisa Knott B. 1848. They had 9 live children, Ernest, Violet, Wilfred, Ambrose (B.1869) Thomas (B.1872), William (B.1875), Charlotte (B.1876),Louisa (B.1878) and Herbert (B.1880).
My Grandfather, Thomas, was married in St. Mary's church, Sturminster-Newton, to Mary Jane Kellaway Nov. 16, 1897.
My father was born there in 1899.
All this information comes from my sister's research and, starting with Grandfather, the family bible.
I hope this helps your quest.
