Ironsides in the London area

My Grandfather used to own a tobacconist/confectioner's and betting shop (before it was legal) in the 1950s in Dalston, London. His name was Albert, wife Irene. I am a novice when it comes to researching names so would be very interested to hear of the best ways to go about it.

Many thanks

Philip Rice
