I checked the index and found William. I will request a copy of his death certificate.
I checked the marriage index and there was a William Ironside married to a Gladys Spinks. However it turned out to be the wrong William since the birth index showed that there were two children born to this couple after our William's death in 1891.

I am still searching for a James Ironside, my father's eldest brother born in Strichen in 1877. His name does not appear on my grandfather's tombstone erected in New Pitsligo after my grandmother's death in 1926. He may have been still alive at that time.
