I've got 18 Ironside/Wilson marriages on my database but the only one that fits is Margaret Williamina (or Williamine) Ironside, who married Harry James Wilson in Aberdeen Old Machar in 1896. She was born 27 August 1871 in Aberdour; Colin T. Ironside who supplied me with this line says she was known as Minnie. Her parents were James Leith Ironside and Robina Panton Clark. Drop me a private email and I will send you Colin's postal address; I don't think he's on email.

I've got fairly extensive data on Ironsides throughout the UK up to 1900, and for England up to the present day, but very little data after 1900 for Scotland, where the name is much more numerous than in England. My own ancestor John Ironside migrated from Aberdeenshire to Rotherham in Yorkshire around 1750, and I collected the data in order to identify him - but I haven't yet succeeded, as there are too many candidates. I haven't collected downlines from female Ironsides so I can't be positive that Minnie is your ggm.

Mike Kay
