Dave,
I am researching Ironside in Aberdour. I have a Robert Born 1788 in Methlick. Although I am waiting for verification (arn't we all !)
Here is what I have so far:
Robert Ironside born 1 Sept 1788 in Methlick, was a farmer at North Newmills, Methlick. This farm remained in the family for several generations.
He married Isabella Ferguson.
Their son Rev James Leith Ironside,M.A, christened 8 July 1824 at Methlick. He was schoolmaster at Aberdour for 24 years.
He married Robina Panton Craik .
Their daughter and I believe my G Grandmother Margaret Wilamina Ironside (known as Minnie)born 27 August 1871 Aberdour. I have no idea if their were more children ?
She married Harry James Wilson in Aberdeen, Old Machar in 1896
They had Susan (My Grandmother)and Curley (not sure if this was his name or a Nickname ?)
Curley married a lady named Nell. He was manager of the Black and White Whiskey Distillery in Keith, near Aberdeen, Certainly in the 1960's but not sure of exact dates.
Susan married Ronald Hugh Wheatland. They had 4 Children:
Gertrude Margaret Grace (My Mother). Michael Ronald, Patricia and Zena.
I wont go into the children of the children and who married who as I have yet to verify that this ACTUALLY my tree.
