What proof do you have that Hugh was born in 1755. I have found records in my family, where the immigration gave a certain age and that age was used as the basis of all documentation in Australia. However, when I checked the records in the British Isles, the records could be anything up to 3-5 years different. Mostly the people were older then specified. They used the same year and month of birth but the year was incorrect. I think it was related to the costs of immigration whether you were able to travel free or if paying the price was different for different age groups.
