"Minnie" Isbister married P.Victor Fry in Toronto, Canada and had six children. Her father was Thomas Isbister of Kirkwall, Orkney (or farm just outside there), her mother came from the Island of Skye. Minnie's eldest son Douglas V. Fry had a handwritten family tree from the Orkney that was claimed to identify the entire Isbister family from its origins through the generations. I saw it once. It didn't account for where those who left the Islands went. I have asked those in the family who have Douglas's possessions now to pass on that family tree and when I get it I will happily share it with others. I do recall the name of Samuel repeated for many early generations until it stopped--never to be used again.
In walking around a remote small graveyard in Hudson's Bay Area, Canada, there is a very old Isbister grave in a section reserved for HBCo. employees. I will get the name when the snow lifts.
