Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My mother bought a beautiful old photo album in Iowa. She gave the old photos to me. I have at least 50 old photos, most or all of which were taken in St. Louis around the turn of the century. Most of these photos are not marked. There were a couple of pieces of paper in the album with the following names: "Minnie" "Agatha Schiffmann"; "Steinberg's - Tillie, Agatha, Annie, Augusta, Frank, August"; "Pete + John - Bill Isler - Great Grandpa B". One photo is marked: "Model T - Bill Isler's car". Another says "Taken 3/29/31, Bill Isler died 3/25/31" and shows a grieving woman standing over a grave with flowers. Another marked "Tillie" shows a woman dressed in a man's suit with a bowler hat. Two photos show "Great grandparents Birchler". One says "Dad Birchler early 20's".
Most of these are the hard cardboard type photo cards. There are several St. Louis photography studios represented such as: Parson's, Hammer, Meier, Schneidt, Goldsmith, Genelli, Guerin, Boehl & Koenig, Cassily, Gross, & J. Haas. I would be glad to give these photos to anyone with a family connection.
