Jacob Isler was married to Zibilla Wolfe. Both died in 1772. Jacob had two sons, Jacob IZLAR, Jr. and Tobias EAZLER. When Jacob died who inherited his monies and lands. He was known to have been well-off. Was it Zibilla Wolfe's father, Jacob Wolfe, who came into the inheritance (He is believed to have died around 1774) or was it his son, Jacob Wolfe Jr.?
Jacob IZLAR, Jr. was sent to be raised by a Mr. Pendarvis who, according to the "Inventory of the Goods & Chattels of Jacob Isler" owed Jacob's estate money. Jacob IZLAR, Jr. was taken in by Jacob Wolfe, his uncle, after the death of Mr. Pendarvis. Jacob Wolfe, Sr. is known to have been selling slaves in October of 1773 which suggest he was a man of means. Why did he not raise his grandchildren? Why did these two boys live and die, never knowing they had a brother? Why did Jacob IZLAR, Jr. describe himself as "a poor destitute orphan without a protector"?
