IVESTER and WHIS(T)ENANT

I came across an old post to this list by Jeff Ivester, indicating that the second wife of George Ivester 1819-1887 (this George a grandson of Hugh, Sr., the immigrant and a son of George Newell Ivester, Hugh, Sr.'s eldest son) was Nancy Whistenant b. 1819 in York, S.C. Nancy was the mother of George's two youngest children, Elizabeth and John Newton Ivester.

Whistenant (there are literally dozens of variant spellings, Whisenhunt, Whisenant, it all goes back to Visinand in the area of Lausanne, Switzerland) intersected with IVESTER on at least 1 additional occasion. I'm descended from George Newell Ivester, via his son George's elder brother William Ivester b. 1813/5. William married his first cousin, Louvenia, a dtr of Hugh, Jr. (which makes me "double Ivester"). Now William and Louvenia's eldest, Andrew Alexander Ivester, married Elizabeth Ann Franklin from Habersham Co. (there are several intermarriages between Ivesters and Franklins if you look out there). Andrew (my Dad recalls him, correctly, as much resembling "Kaiser Bill") and Elizabeth lived into the early 1930s; they are my great-grandparents via the twelfth of their 13 children, my grandmother Macy Queen Ivester 1892-1953. Sho 'nuff, Elizabeth Ann Franklin's parents were Jeremiah Franklin and Eliza Whisenant (Eliza's dates -- approx. as I haven't papers in front of me -- abt. 1830-1920).

Any other Whisenant/Whisenhunt/Whistenant connections, anyone?
