On internet found roster of Company E, 16th Regiment, GA Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern VA, CSA
Lists following as privates, all I believe to have been sons of George Newell Ivester and Anna Rucker:
William Ivester, my 2X g-g'father "private [enlisted] 7/24/1861, wounded in eye, resulting in loss of sight, at Chancellorsville, VA 5/3/1863. Caputured at Wilderness, VA 5/6/1864 (place of capture also given as Cold Harbor, VA 6/1/1864); released @ Elmira, NY 7/11/1865; d. Habersham Co., GA 1909 [actually I think he died 1904].
Jacob B. Ivester, private 8/6/1861; captured @ Gettsburg, 7/5/1863, d. smallpox, Ft. Delaware, DE 11/23/1863.
John N. Ivester, private 8/21/1861, b. Habersham Co., GA, surrendered @ Appamatox, VA 4/9/1865.
