Eve Lingerfelt (Hugh, Jr.'s wife)

Hugh Isbister, Sr., our immigrant ancestor from Orkney, and wife Barbary had five children, of whom the youngest was Hugh Ivester, Jr. Hugh, Jr. married Eve Lingerfelt abt. 1820. My Ivester kin -- actually, my direct line includes both Hugh, Jr. and his eldest sibling, George Newell Ivester, owing to a marriage of their children William and Levina in 1848 -- until discovering their Orkney (Scandinavian-Scottish) roots, thought the Ivesters to be German. They are, in part, owing to marriages with German women including Eve Lingerfelt.

Frances Ivester Simonian and a LINGERFELT descendant, Don Davis, have pretty much confirmed that Eve Lingerfelt was a daughter of John (Johan) Michael Lingerfelt who arrived in Penna. from Wuerttemberg, in SW Germany, at age 6 in 1754. John Michael Lingerfelt died in 1828. His parents, hence Eve's grandparents, were Pancratius Lingenfelder and wife Catharina who emigrated with sons John Michael and Johannes (b. 1750).

Those of us descended from Hugh, Jr. and Eve will want to have a look at the GenForum Lingerfelt site. Best regards.
