Trist was my great-grandmother (mother of my grandfather, Virgil Lamar Ivester). When I was a little girl, Trist lived with my aunt Wessie very close to my grandparents. I remember her well. I remember being at my Aunt Wessie's house when some people from a movie studio came to interview Trist and to have her sign some papers related to a movie they were making in which JEB was a central character. My father's sister (Trist's granddaughter) told me there was a wedding ring that was inscribed "From JEB to Mary" that might possibly be in the hands of one of my cousins (granddaughter of Ethel) but her whereabouts are unknown. There is some thought that Mary Jones (mother of Trist) may have been connected to the other Jones family that married into the Ivesters (from Habersham)but I have searched and can find no connections... not that I would recognize it if I did. The J.B. Stewart you mention in your post was most likely Trist' brother - James Billip (or Billup) Stewart. He was also a son of JEB and Mary Jones. My aunt who lived in Habersham as a child tells me that the "legitimate" Stuarts did, in fact, recognize Trist and Billip as kin. There is no doubt within the family that this story is true. However, there is also no way to prove it unless we can find Ethel Ann (granddaughter of my grandfather's sister, Ethel).
