Hi Larry, I've written a book on Ivesters, and your ancester, Julius patrick Ivester who married Anna Brooks is in it. Julius Patrick is the son of Jesse Ivester, who is the son of George Ivester, who is the son of Hugh Ivester, who came from the Orkney Islands, Scotland in 1775 on the ship Marlborough to Savannah. Hugh was then Hugh Isbister. My book is about 250 pages, with about 60 pages of photos and charts. I've spent many years 20 or so researching and have been back to all counties concerned as well as to the Orkneys, which are north of Scotland beyond the Pentland Firth in the North Sea. This is a most fascinating line! My favorite.
If you want a book, it is 35.00 plus postage( about 3.00).
Let me know. Janice Jackson Ivester, 205 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA 30117, phone 770-836-1941.
