Hello Beth,

Yes, Wm. Louis William/s aka one of the 2- Famous men known as Frank James - Outlaw. This one married (Indian wedding) Ann Ralston in 1874. The other man known also as Frank James m: Margaret Custer in 1871/72, younger sister to Gen. George Armstrong Custer 1st. He married her with Vaughn surname 1st. This Vaughn always gone running from law,, so Margaret moved with her brother, when he was ordered north with cavalry before the battle of Little Bighorn in 1876.

Margaret wanted children, so she married "Wm. Louis William/s," as James Daniel/l. They got married in Calhoun Co. Margaret's brother called him "James Calhoun." They had a boy before he left with cavalry going west before Battle of Little Bighorn. As James Calhoun he died at this Battle but as James Daniel/l he lived on and served with Gen. CROOK until his term/enlistment ended in 1880.

Vaughn was a nephew of the other. So they were related.

Freda
