Elisha Ivie (1783-1871) Virginia

I'm looking for information on my great, great, great, great grandfather, Elisha Ivie (1783-1871). Specifically, I am looking for records that might help me identify Elisha's parents or siblings. I've hit a brick wall in my research and am unable to trace my family line back beyond Elisha. Here's what I know about Elisha Ivie: He was born 1783 in Virginia (I don't know what county). Elisha married Nancy (born 1786 in South Carolina, died 16 Jan 1857 in Perry County, Alabama, date of marriage unknown, maiden name unknown). Elisha moved to Tennessee (reconstructed tax records indicate Anderson County) either before or after his marriage. Elisha had two sons while living in Tennessee: Alfred Joseph Ivie (born 1807, died 1802 in Perry County Alabama) and Henry Gage Ivie (born 1811, died 6 Aug. 1861 in Houston County, Texas). Elisha then moved his family to Perry County, Alabama, where he had a daughter: Nancy Ivie (born 19 Feb. 1819 in Perry County, Alabama, married Jesse E. Massengale 10 Nov. 1836, died 1 July 1851, Perry County, Alabama). In 1825 and again in 1837, Elisha purchased land in Perry County, Alabama, from the U.S. General Land Office. Elisha appears in multiple Federal and State census reports, tax records and land ownership records between 1805 and 1870. Elisha's last will and testament was fully probated in the years following his death. The probate case file, along with other records I've found, have provided a wealth of information about Elisha's life and his heirs. But I have had no luck in finding anything regarding Elisha's parents or siblings. The Ivie name and all it's permutations (Ivey, Ivy, Avey, etc.), is not all that common. I am currently working backwards by researching all of the Ivie lines in 17th and 18th century Virginia trying to identify Elisha's family that way. As you might imagine, the work is tedious and moving very slowly. If anyone has any information that might help me identify Elisha's parents or siblings, or even the county in Virginia where he was born, I would be extremely grateful.
