Greetings from NZ, Chris!

Aquila is my grandfather. He (and several brothers at other times) came to NZ with his young wife (ne้ Didcock) in 1853 and died in Rangiora in 1907. He remarried his niece (ne้ Emily Carter) and my father, Joseph Aquila, was born in 1901. My father died in his 96th year. I was born in 1932, so only three generations span more than 150 years! I have two sons but no grandsons by them, so our branch's name is likely to die with them.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Going backwards, I don't think anyone here has got beyond Aquila's father, John, who lived at Costessey in Yorkshire. Have you any further information?

Best regards
Bernard Ivory
