Hi Anna,

You might be able to help me as I might be able to help you. My mother's maiden name was Ivory, and she came from Raheen, Passage East Co. Waterford. I have not had much luck with my tracing of the family and only really know from what my late grandfather told me, and things I learned as a child. What I do know is that the family originally came over with the Normans to Ireland in the 12th century. And aparently have been in the area ever since, only a couple of miles from where they would have landed with Henry II of Englands army in 1171. I can go back as far as around the mid 1800's. My Uncle and his second cousin are the last surviving members in the area, although there are some others who apparently are not related. My grandfather was Patrick Ivory, brothers Denis, Willliam and John. Sisters May and Catherine. He was son of a Thomas Ivory who had a brother William of Ballyglan, near Dumore East Co. Waterford and another brother whose name I do not know in Callaghan, again near Dunmore East in Co. Waterford, a farm that my Uncle inherited. All these being in a five mile radius of each other. They were all quite extensive farmers and were regarded highly in their respected communities. The fmaily name is now dying out with some members in Dublin, but alas we have very little contact. I hope this is of some use to you, and maybe you might be able to help me.
