I HAVE JUST FOUND THE WEB SITE.
I AM A MEMBER OF THE GENUINE IVORY CLAN, FROM LONDON. THEY WERE ALL TRUE COCKNEYS. I'M NOT. I WAS BORN THE WRONG SIDE OF THE RIVER, IN BATTERSEA, ON 12/12/1962. MY FATHER WAS SAMUEL JOHN IVORY, BORN IN STEPNEY, ON 10/2/1916, THE ONLY SON OF ETHEL AND SAMUEL IVORY OF CAMBERHURST STREET, STEPNEY. THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH HORSES IN A BIG WAY IN STEPNEY GREEN, DRIVING THE HORSE BUSES. MY GRANDFATHER DIED IN 1932. MY FATHER'S FIRST COUSIN, LEN, CONTACTED AND MANAGED TO FIND DAD 50 YEARS AFTER THEY HAD LAST MET, WHILE TRACING THE FAMILY TREE. LEN HAD MANAGED TO GET AS FAR BACK AS THE 1600'S, OF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, TO OXFORDSHIRE, AND A LORD OF THE MANOR. I BELEIVE I HAVE A COPY OF LEN'S WORK IN MY LOFT. THE SURNAMES PRICTER (LATER CHANGED TO PROCTOR) - GRANNY PRICTER LIVED TO 101 IN THE 1930'S (?), HAGEN, AND PERHAPS PRICE MIGHT MEAN SOMETHING TO YOU. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF I CAN BE OF MORE ASSISTANCE.
