I think I'm narrowing the search for my grandmother, Emilia Jablonska's, origins to Jablonka. I have found several people who emigrated from Jablonka:
Maria -- age 60 -- arrived NY 6/3/1903 departed Bremen
Vendel* -- age 16 -- arrived NY 8/16/03 departed Hamburg
Karol -- age 21 -- arrived NY 2/15/07 departed Bremen
August -- age 19 -- arrived NY 1/3/09 departed Bremen
Jozefa -- age 19 -- arrived 2/25/13 departed Bremen
*Vendel was listed on the ship Bluecher as "Tendel Jablousky." My grandmother did have a brother named Vendel who apparently came to the U.S. Also on that ship's list was a "Tsodor Jabishorosky." My grandmother also had a brother (sister?) named Tivadar. Now, where do I go from here?
Further, I'm still frustrated in locating my grandmother's arrival in the U.S. I have found an Emilia Jablonska listed as a "detained alien," reason: med exam. The ship was the Kaiserin Auguste Victoria, 1914. Disposition was to a sister, Katherine, from LaPorte, IN. Don't know if this is my grandmother. I thought she'd entered in 1913, maybe even 1903???
