Hi Rogers,
I am Joe Yakel from Albany, NY. I've seen your family name many times in my research here. In fact, my family name is also JACKEL, JAKEL, JEKEL, and many others. My family came from Prussia to Albany in 1847 (John and Barbara JACKEL) and brought 10 of their children with them.

I have not been able to establish a link between Charles JACKEL of Albany and my Jackel family. If you e-mail me with some information, perhaps we can find a link.

I will tell you that I have Naturalization Record of a Peter JAKEL (YAKEL) who came from Eichelhaim, Hesse-Darmstadt. He arrived in NY on Sept 19, 1890. He was married to a woman named Margaretha and they had a child Johannes. Please e-mail me at joeyakel@wizvax.net and we can share some more information. If we aren't related, perhaps I can help you out with some information I have on this other family.
Regards,
Joe Yakel
