Looking for inforamation on the family of my great-great grandfather, John J. Jackel and his wife Barbara. The had 9 children: Francis, Stephen, John, Nicholas, Peter, Lydia, Leonard, Frederick and Mary. The family came to New York, from Prussia in 1847 and settled in Albany, NY. The surname was spelled various ways, including JACKALL, JAKEL, JAKLE, YAGEL, YAGLE, YEAGLE, and finally settled on the spelling YAKEL in the 1860's. Interested in any info on the siblings or parents of John and his wife.
