My ancestor is Richard M. Jackett who married Mary Ann Metherell in St. Thomas, Launceston, Cornwall. He came to the United States in 1870, staying for a short time in Chicago. Family history says they were there during the great fire of Chicago. The family was in Tipton county, Tennessee by 1876, probably earlier. I haven't heard any stories about others coming with him other than his wife, four sons (Thomas, Philip, Richard, and William) and daughter, Jennie.

Any information about their family in Cornwall would be appreciated.
