You'll never believe this, but I just now was researching this family for someone else, and have the obituary of the parents. From 28 Feb 1923 Indianapolis Star: Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jackley of Frankton, Ind., both of who died at the home of their daughter, Mrs. L.A. Barth, 3002 North Capitol Avenue, will be held from the Barth home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Crown Hill. Mr. Jackley, who was 81 years old, died last Thurday after an illness of three years. His wife, Martha Dano Jackley, 80 years old, died Monday. She had been ill only a short time. They had spent the winter with Mrs. Barth. Mr. Jackley, who was a veteran of the civil war was born in Albany, N.Y., and lived in Frankton for twenty-nine years. He served in President Lincoln's bodyguard. Mrs. Jackley was born in Toronto, Canada. In addition to Mrs. Barth, two daughters and six sons survive. They are Mrs. T.M. Holt of Washington, Mrs. Fred Moore of New York, William Jackley of Washington, Archer of Anderson, Ind.; Dano and Waldo of Cameron, W.Va., Frank of Hastings, Fla., and Thomas Jackley of Charleston, W.Va. Thirty-three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. From the 1900 census, three sons were living at home. One, whose name is illegible, was born May 1879 in Ohio, and occupation looks like glass window business. Tom, born Jan 1882. Waldo, born Dec 1883. Jacob's parents were both from Germany. Family I was researching was: Alfred Dickson Hurst, who married Jessie M. Jackley and Archer Hurst who married Esther Hurst. (have info on their children, if you're interested). If you have info on Jessie and Esther's parents, would appreciate a reply. Neil Notify Administrator about this message?
