Hi,
My name is Patricia Jackley and I am a direct descendant of Jacob Jackley. He was my great grandfather. One of his sons was Waldo Jackley, and Waldo was my grandfather, although I never knew him. About one year ago, my father passed away and I have uncovered much information about the Jackley family, from the about the time Jacob met and married Martha Dano. (My aunt tells stories about how they developed their own language-she spoke French and Jacob spoke German), how true that is, I'm not so sure!
To add to the confusion...I was able to visit the general area from where Jacob Jackley, Senior immigrated. It is the general area of what is now Luxembourg. It was a particularly moving experience and emotional.
I look forward to chatting with you all about the beginnings of our ancestry. Pattie
