The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 2, 1908 On Christmas day, at high noon, at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. PHILIP H. STECH, Russell, Iowa, occurred the marriage of their daughter NORA BELLE, to J.J. JACKLEY, of Pierre, S.D. Everything joined to render the occasion beautiful. The day was warm and of the effulgent beauty that follows days of cloudy weather, and a happy company gathered to witness the event. Friends and relatives were present from Nebraska Kansas, and different points in Iowa. At the appointed time the bridal pair took their places to the strains of a wedding march played by Mrs. John W. Stech. Rev. A.H. Stote, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated. After the ceremony a bountiful dinner was served. The bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents. MR. JACKLEY is well known, having lived here most of his life. About six years ago he went to Pierre, S.D., where by close application and admirable principles, he has built up a successful business in real estate. The bride has spent her life in this vicinity and is universally admired. Her removal will be a distinct loss here, and especially in the services of the Baptist Church in which she has had an important part. And she is hereby commended to those among whom she will make her home. A company in honor of the newly wedded couple took dinner at the home of the groom's mother, MRS. H. JACKLEY, on Friday. After a few days spent with friends and relatives they took their departure for their future home at Pierre, taking with them hearty congratulations and earnest wishes for a long and happy life. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert January 17, 2005 iggy29@rnetinc.net http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm Notify Administrator about this message?
