As the story goes in my branch, my ancestors originated in France with a name spelled something something like "Jacquelin". They fled the country at least a hundred years ago (maybe a couple) and went to England. While there, they anglicized the name to "Jacklin". At some later point, they came to Ontario, Canada.
Does anybody happen to be familiar with this story? If so, would you mind sharing any additional information. Such as why they fled France.
Thanks,
Aaron
