Hello Pam, I found that same info about Michigan & really wonder if it is the same Robert Jacklin. I will be writing to the church the Jacklin children were baptized at to see if perhaps there is a marriage record. It's a long shot!! Most of the info I have came from other family members - that was my start.
After Robert left the family, Catherine married a man with surname Cronin,left her daughters Sarah Ann & Johanne & son Patrick Joseph with her parents. She took the youngest daughter, Mary Fanny with her & moved to Pennsylvania, had 3 daughters from that marriage who died young. They then moved to Creston Iowa where she apparently was killed shooing cattle off of railroad tracks in 1880, so apparently she is buried there. I've yet to find that.
