The recent discussion of Samuel Jackman was helpful to me.
I recently transcribed about 600 Jackman Essex vitals to a spreadsheet, sorted them by b., m. and d. and then by date. If James, the founder, is the first generation, there was no record of James of the second generation marrying Rachel Noyes. The third generation was almost complete except for the births of Samuel and Nicholas. Samuel appeared in 1717 marrying Meriam Plomer and Nicholas in 1718 marrying Mary Morse. Samuel and Nicholas were either sons of second generation James or Richard or they were immigrants to Essex. I believe now that Nicholas is the son of James Jackman and Rachel Noyes. You have answered the question I had about Samuel before I could ask it.
There is no record of Moses’ marriage however there are four Haverhill baptisms of Moses’ children – no mother named - beginning with Miriam in 1741 and ending with Lydia in 1748.
Many more questions have arisen out of my examination of the Essex vitals. The next two would be who were the parents of Samuel Jackman of Samuel (Newbury) marrying Mary Aires in 1737 then James Jackman of James (Newbury) marrying Martha Snell in 1738?
Howard Jackman, 8th g-grandson of James and Joanna.
