I am researching the family of John E. and Matilda LAUSEN JACOB who lived in Galveston County - (Galveston & Alta Loma) - from the 1860s - 1930s.
John was born in Texas about 1861 and Matilda, better known as "Tillie," was born in Galveston on June 13, 1867 to Mr. and Mrs. C.H. LAUSEN.
They had several sons - John, George, William (AKA Buck),
Louis, Robert, and Sydney Albert, and also a daughter, Hazel, who died when she was 14.
They lived on Galveston Island until shortly before the 1900 Storm, when they moved to Alta Loma.
After John died, Tillie remarried to a man named Pat McGovern. She died in 1930.
