For all of you, specifically for Courtney, who is also related to John:
Your John Jacobe (d.1943) had a son named Jacob who had a son named Joseph who had a son named John who had me. Am I clear? Jacob and Joseph (my great-grandfather and grandfather) were both from Scranton, PA. My father John was also born there but grew up outside DC. He is one of five boys. Joseph died last year leaving one living sibling of five. I have found Jacobes in Wise County, VA who are originally from NJ, and we have Zellers in NY who are related too.
I am one of three, and my sister and I are seeking a deeper look into the family history. We knew the Hesse stuff, and my grandpa used to tell an old family story about a greatuncle who traveled as the strong man in a German circus. We also have a great tree from John and his wife down.
