Elizabeth "Sunny", "Betty" and "Lize" Jacobi, nee Williams, born Woodbury, CT., September 10, 1907, died Chicago, IL., July 23, 2007., daughter of Florence Atwood-Williams and Frederic Williams; sister of Ruth, Russell, Virginia, Phillip, Winnifred, Warren and lastly DeForest; wife of Andrew Jacobi; beloved mother of Joyce, Mary and Gilbert. In her early years, Elizabeth worked as a traveling saleswoman, seamstresses model and housekeeper. She learned to drive a horse and wagon at her father's knee, and a Model A at her husband's side. During both World Wars, she performed home- front volunteer work and during Vietnam, she anxiously awaited the safe return of her only son, who held her head for her last breath. Her life has ended; may we now begin to tell her story. Visitation Friday, at Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St. Oak Park, IL., 10 a.m. Service at 12 noon. Interment private. Arrangements by Ahern Funeral Home. 708-383-5700.
