I am trying to find information on ascendants/descendants of Hirsch Jacobi, from Transilvania, (Hungary then, now Romania). I believe he was a Rabbi and had many brothers and sisters. I am a descendant of Hirsch, via his son David, the son of David, Giorgi (Jorge in Spanish), who was my grandfather. My great grandfather David lived in a place called Parsiche, later in Coloshvar (Cluj) and Teneshvar (Timissoara). I believe that the the musician Victor Jacobi, who was quite popular in Broadway in the 1920īs might be related to us. BTW, our surname was changed from jacobi to yacobi to facilitate its correct pronuntiation in Spanish in the 1930īs.
