Just received a copy of the Iowa census of 1925 where my grandmother Lena Jacobs listed her parents as Nicholas Reiter b. Germany and Suzan Jacoby b. Luxembourg. I previously had Nicholas immigrating from Prussia in the 1850s with wife Susanne and children. They lived in Mendota, Illinois, where my grandmother was born. She married Adam Jacobs in 1880 and moved to Avoca, IA. Adam had immigrated to Illinois at age 2 with his parents, John and Dora Jacob and siblings, from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (German duchies) in 1856. This was the first indication of a Luxembourg connection and the first time I've had a maiden name. Appreciate any further info/leads that may be available.
