Hans was born in 1894 Hohendorf-Plauen area of Germany. His father was Emil Hans Jacoby and his mother was Anna Liebner. Anna was the daughter of August Liebner and the family rean a "livery" business. Emil H. Jacoby was a teacher/musician/organist of the local church in Hohendorf and he died at an early age of 35. Hans Emil had a sister who died at age nine. After he arrived in New York through Ellis Island he stayed in NYC for at least 10 years. He married Helen Gut in 1916 whom he met at the NY city college of music. Any information found on my father would be greatly appreciated.
