I married Randall B.Probst in 1966; his father Richard Probst, Sr,had married Mary Jacobi, daughter of Bertha, and they lived in "Aunt Hattie's" house in Aurora, IL. Mary died of cancer perhaps between 1960 and 1964, in that same house. My ex-husband is now dead,father is gone, and brother, Richard Jr. could be anywhere, but my son wants some more information about this family. My husband used to tell me he remembered that perhaps his G-grandfather Jacobi had married a full-blooded Cherokee Indian; remembers as a child seeing her seated on a floor, with her long straight white hair touching the ground behind her. Anybody know any Jacobi's around the Aurora, IL area (distant suburb of Chicago).
