I am a Jacobsen living in Sydney in Australia. My Great-Grandfather was Richard Jacobsen or Jacobson born in Helgoland Denmark in 1850. He travelled to Australia sometime before 1875. He served in the Royal Palace Guard in Copenhagen before coming to Australia. He was registered as a Sydney Policeman in 1875 and married Elizabeth Ada Rochester in 1875 at Windsor in NSW Australia. His mother was Margaret Nelson and father was either Erasmas Jakoshevn or Jurasben Jacashen. He died in Sydney in 1939 aged 89 years. He had 9 sons, the fourth one being Wilfred Anton Norman Jacobsen b 9 Dec 1881 who married on 2 Oct 1909 Emily Maud Crawford b 3 Jun 1885. Their first born was my dad Wilfred Leslie Richard Jacobsen b 6 Feb 1910. They then had 7 other children. I have two sisters.
Anyone who can shed some more light on Richard Jacobsen's life in Denmark please?
