I am trying to get information on my gggrandmother, whom we knew by the name of Magness Manheim, however, through various family stories I have discovered that she lived with her Uncle, Nathaniel Jacobi and his mother Bertha in South Carolina, where she was born.
I beleive that her mother must have been Bertha's only daughter that I can find, Susannah (Susan), who disapears after the 1880 census.
Her father's name (Manheim) is listed as Mankeine in the 1900 census, but we know that it was some completely different name when he came over from Germany prior to Magness's birth in 1886.
by 1907 Magness had married my ggrandfather, Jacob Morris and had my grandfather Melvin in Tennessee.
I am listing this in the forums for Jacobi, Jacobe, and Jacoby, in case anyone has any information.
